80's Playground 80's Playground

Greetings from RetroDaze

Hey gang. I have to say, this is the first Eighties forum I have seen in a long time, with activity! That, my friends, is awesome to witness.

I come from a site called http://www.retro-daze.com, which focuses heavily on member written articles, our forums, and collections of cool content.

It makes me very happy to see that there are still some 80's folks out there willing to give life to a forum, instead of just posting on Facebook and such.

    Thanks for having me. :(

Awesome man! Thanks for joining and introducing yourself. We feel like forums make it easier to compile information while also building a community. Facebook is good for getting the word out about stuff, but really difficult to keep track of information long term. Your site sound interesting, will check it out! :(

  3. Welcome! I will for sure be checking out your site this evening.

Forums are where all the cool kids hang out anyway.  B)

Haha, yeah... I actually noticed the other day a few more of my friends/family have disconnected their FB accounts.

  5. Hi Retro, glad you could make it. I replied to your message.

Yeah what A.C said, while facebook is a good medium for acquiring people, it's otherwise a bad place to find information. My big focus, with this site, is to make things easy to find. So for me, organization is the key. While we are a fairly young site, i feel over time, that we'll have a solid following with solid people. That may be the glue that keeps us together, where other forums fail. Most of the people we have here, we already knew before starting the site. With that being said, we're always looking for people to meet and great and i would love to build a closer working relationship with you and your site. This for example, is a great article:

Looking forward to more of your posts. Let us know how we can help bridge the gap

    Sincerely, another 80s fan!

  6. Very welcome to the 80spg!! Just had a look at your site : very cool place

    Looking forward to your posts

  7. Thanks guys.

I agree. We nostalgia junkies with sites and blogs need to pool our resources and get the word out there. There are too few out there that actually make an effort anymore.

Though this site may be young (as is ours - we're turning 2 years old this December), it is already quite strong. That is promising. I'm glad to be a part of it in the early stages.
