GPK All The Way!

  1. 3 years ago

Just hopped on over here from another board.

I started collecting GPK with my brother in 1985/86.  We used to buy up boxes of OS2 from the local toy store at the mall.  We missed the OS1 boat but collected a set over the years.  I'd say I stuck around until series 9/10 before life moved me in a different direction.

Like most of you with a similar story, flash forward 30 years or so and I'm revisiting the past. :(

My goal was to put an PSA 10 OS1 Matte set together.  I got about 90% of the way there and then my wife put on the breaks ... it ain't cheap.  My brother has been focusing on the same with OS2.  I think he's only short 2 cards.  So close!!

    Anyway, that's my story.

    Hope all is well!

  2. Hi Keats. Nice to have ya onboard.

I've heard about your epic psa set-to-be. Maybe one day you can release the shackles and finish that sucker up. I would love to see a group pic of that set when you're done. Think you can manage that?

Well from one 80's guy to another, welcome aboard

Come on in...  stay for a while.... put up your feet.... and relax...

    Welcome to the forum!

Man, I was talking to Dirty Dog a while back about building PSA sets, and I figure trying for any series would put a good dent in the bank account, but OS 1 would be killer. That's pretty cool you actually bought OS boxes back then. Tangie and I were wondering how people bought boxes back in the day since it seemed like you could only buy stuff by the pack, and buying boxes was not as common as it is now.

What do you miss most about the 80s?
